I earned my MFA in Comics at California College of the Arts, my BS in Art at SUNY Empire State College, and did some illustration coursework at Moore College of Art & Design.
Before relocating to California,
I was deeply embedded in my Brooklyn community and truly value my time working with organizations such as Harriet’s Apothecary, Center for Anti-Violence Education, and Brooklyn's Children's Museum. I am the illustrator of three children’s picture books (Amadi’s Snowman for Tilbury House, Has Anyone Lost a Glove and Sidewalk Chalk: Poems of the City for Boyds Mills Press) and is the author of two children’s picture books (Sounds of Kwanzaa for Scholastic Press and Together for Cartwheel Books).
I am currently researching and drawing a graphic hybrid memoir about my journey as a Black woman bookmaker in America with the biography of the renowned historical figure, Phillis Wheatley.
